This newsletter is designed for and by everyone professionally involved in the realisation of truck platooning in Europe, based on the organisation of the EU Truck Platooning Challenge in 2016. Alongside current developments, this monthly newsletter will also cover knowledge-sharing and exchange, briefing of partners and making contacts. Contributions are always welcome.
The Netherlands has made smart mobility the central theme for the Informal Transport Council during the 2016 EU Presidency. This meeting, on 14 April, brought together 28 European transport ministers in the Amsterdam Maritime Museum. Among others they signed the Declaration of Amsterdam (video). Read more >

Living Lab 31 May - Utrecht: Truck platoons on the road in 2017!

The EU Truck Platooning Challenge on 6 April was a meaningful start to putting truck platooning on the map. In the Netherlands preparations start up for real life business cases in early 2017. Stakeholders meet in Utrecht (31 May) to discuss potential start-up qualifications for pilot projects.. Read more >

EU TPC 2016: Lessons Learnt in booklet format

The Challenge will be on the agenda at the ITS European Congress (6-9 June) in Glasgow and at TEN-T Days (20-22 June) in Rotterdam. Findings and results from the Challenge will also be shared in a booklet packed with the lessons learnt. Read more >

Next step meeting – Glasgow EU TPC

On 6 April 2016, the truck platoons, that participated in the European Truck Platooning Challenge 2016, landed at APM Terminals, Maasvlakte II, Rotterdam. Truck Platooning Challenge presence at TEN-T days

The 16th edition of TENT-T days is scheduled for 20 to 22 June in Rotterdam. More than 1,300 participants have already registered. The EU Truck Platooning Challenge will also have a presence. Read more >

Shippers’ viewpoint on EU TPC 2016

Just one day after the Truck Platooning Challenge (6 April, Rotterdam) the European Shippers Council was invited to the platooning conference (April 7, Amsterdam) to address the users’ perspective on truck platooning. Multinationals (UNILEVER; AHOLD; JUMBO) joined a panel discussion. Read more >
